Please remove my brain and replace it with a melon.
I followed a link to this blog and found myself wishing to be as blithely ignorant and easily pleased as the author apparently is. And I really mean that in a good way. How much better would I feel if I could be like 'hurray! Another day of fireworks!' or 'I love that everything is so insanely overpriced, it's charming!' or 'look how perdy all those mawkish mall decorations are! HURRAY!'
I sometimes wish I could instantly stop myself from being annoyed by little things, which build up and give this whole experience an atmosphere of enduring something awful, rather than enjoying something new. Is there such thing as a happy expat? HOW?
