Future Landscapes

I am a graduate architect and creative professional with a specialization in landscape urbanism. I graduated with a Master of Architecture (cand.arch) from kunstakadamiets arkitektskole in Copenhagen in 2011 and a Bachelor of Environmental Design (B.EDs) from Dalhousie University in Halifax in 2009.

Currently I'm a designer at Public Work, a landscape architecture and urban design firm in Toronto, Canada. We work on projects in the public realm including parks, civic spaces, and city infrastructure.

Previously I worked as an architect for Sinai - an urban design + landscape firm in Berlin. Even more previously, I created freelance visualizations for Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos and interned at Tekton Arkitekten in Amsterdam.

Synthetica is about the creative process of combination that occurs between context and concept.  A good result is dependent on the careful balance between what is there and what could be. I believe that big ideas and strong visions are required to direct the focus of smaller, community based interventions.

I am interested in the relationship between landscape, infrastructure and public space, and how these are essential to context-driven architecture. I am passionate about building positive, natural connections in urban settings.

Synthetica describes a design approach that is conscious of the intricacies of context and builds on what already exists. In this way layers of meaning gradually add up to create a vibrant and characteristic environment.
